JEAN-CLAUDE PIERRIC
Jc Pierric est né le 2 mai en 1938 à PARIS dans une famille de huit frères et sœurs . Il passa toute son adolescence dans un pensionnat à Créteil. A 15 ans après le certificat d'étude il fut placé dans une ferme en haute marne . A 18 ans il quitta la haute Marne pour aller retrouver sa mère à Paris qui demeurait Belleville . Sa grande passion était la musique et la chanson, il ne vivait que pour elles dès sa plus tendre enfance.
Il fit mille petits boulots pour vivre et fréquenta assidûment les hauts lieux et temples du JAZZ à Saint Germain des Près , les Trois Maillets, le Blue Note, la Huchette, le Bidule le Tabou. Il y rencontra de célèbres musiciens, Boris Vians, Guy Laffitte, Claude Luter, Maxime Saury et se lia d’amitié avec , Michel Devillers , André Persiani, et Pierre Sellin avec qui il signa bien plus tard quelques titres . Il s'inscrivit en 1960 au conservatoire de la chanson à Bobino et il sortit deux disques 45 t chez les productions Homére, mais avec l'avènement du yéyé ces deux disques ne marcherent pas du tout.
En 1963 lors d’un gala à Maisons Laffite il rencontra Gisèle qui devint son épouse et avec qui il eut 3 filles Isabelle, Corinne et Frédérique. Il se tourna vers la musique de publicité et d'illustration musicale. Avec Léo Petit le guitariste et leader du groupe (( les guitares du diables )) et l’arrangeur du célèbre titre de Johnny Hallyday Souvenir,Souvenir ils composèrent les toutes premières musiques pour la télévision de la publicité qui venait de naitre en 1968 ( le thon c’est bon , Cajoline, yoplait )) à cette occasion il rencontra J.J Annaud qui travaillait chez Image et Publicité, 33 rue du colisée Paris.
Pour la musique d’illustration il réalisa plus de 80 albums avec des compositeurs de grands talents tels que François Rolland chef d'orcherstre de G Bécaud, Pierre Porte chef d'orchestre de Michel Drucker et le compositeur de la musique du film la piscine avec Alain. Delon. Guy Léonard le chef d’orchestre de Joe Dassin et Gérard Gésina le batteur de Juliette Gréco avec lequel il signa la musique du générique de l’émission 7/7 sur TF1 avec l’animatrice Anne Sinclair
De ces albums on peut retenir des disques cultes très recherchés aujourd'hui par les collectors pour n'en citer que 4 ou 5. Harlem Pop Trotters, Abrax, Godchild, Les Wanted. les News boys. Plusieurs de ces disques ont fait l'objet de rééditions en compilations,
Jc Pierric fut aussi directeur artistique de nombreuses maisons d'éditions et principalement de la maison de disques les tréteaux international qui n’existe plus aujourd’hui, ou il réalisa avec Daniel JANIN l'un des plus grands compositeur, arrangeur et chef d'orchestre de l'olympia , la plus grande partie de ses productions. Environ 40 albums , un nombre incroyable de rappeurs ont samplé leurs titres. Les titres les plus samplés SARAMINA , BLACK NIGHT, FAT FAT FELLOW. Ils réalisérent aussi pour les éditions et maisons de films Production Claude Pierson les albums Velvet dream et de nombreuses musiques de films .Sa production dans tous les genres de la variété est énorme plus de 2000 titres sur disques vinyle et CD .
Jc Pierric was born on May 2 in 1938 in PARIS in a family from eight brothers
and sisters. It passed all its
adolescence in a boarding school to Créteil. At 15 years after the certificate of study it was placed in a farm in
high marl. At 18 years it left the high
Marne to go to find his mother in Paris which remained Belleville. Its great passion was the music and the
song, it lived only for them as of its more tender childhood.
It made thousand odd jobs to live
and assiduously attended the high places and temples of the JAZZ with German
Saint of Close, the Three Mallets, Blue Note, Huchette, the Thingummy the
Taboo. It there met famous musicians, Boris Vians Guy Laffitte Claude Luter Maxime Saury and bound friendship with,
Michel Devillers, André Persiani, and Pierre Sellin with whom it signed some
titles much later. It was registered in
1960 with the academy of the song with Bobino and it left two discs 45 T at the
Homére productions, but with the advent of yéyé these two discs do not
marcherent at all.
In 1963 at the time of an official
reception in Maisons Laffite it met Gisele who became his wife and with which
it had 3 girls Isabelle, Corinne and Frederique. It turned to the music of publicity and musical illustration. With Léo Petit the guitarist and leader of the group ((guitars of the devils))
and the arranger of the famous title of Johnny
Hallyday Memory, Souvenir
they composed the very first musics for television of the publicity which came
from naitre in 1968 (the tuna it is good, Cajoline, yoplait)) on this occasion
it met J.J Annaud which worked at Image and Publicity, 33
street of colized Paris.
For the music of illustration it
realized more than 80 albums with type-setters of great talents such as
François Rolland head of orcherstre of G Bécaud Pierre Porte head of orchestra of Michel Drucker and the type-setter of the music of film the swimming pool with Alain. Delon Guy Léonard the head of orchestra of Joe Dassin and Gerard Gésina the beater of Juliette
Gréco with whom it signed
the music of the credits of emission 7/7 on TF1 with stimulating Anne Sinclair
Of these albums one can retain discs
very required worships today by the collectors to quote only 4 or 5 of
them. Pop Harlem Trotters, Abrax,
Godchild, Wanted. News servant boys. Several of these discs were the subject of republications in
compilations,
Jc Pierric was a also director artistic of many and mainly house publishers of discs the trestles international which does not exist today any more, or it carried out with Daniel the JANIN one of largest the type-setter, arranger and head of orchestra of the olympia most of its productions. Approximately 40 albums, an incredible number rappeurs samplé their titles. Samplés titles SARAMINA, BLACK NIGHT, FAT FAT FELLOW. They also réalisérent for the editions and houses of films Production Claude Pierson the albums Velvet dream and of many film musics Sa production in all the kinds of the variety is enormous more than 2000 titles on discs vinyl and CD

Original French pressing on POPULAR DISC / DELTA SOUND label (DS 101), from circa 1969. 1st release of this super-obscure Library series that only had around 5 different titles (i.e. the blue sleeve / yellow / green and red issue). All were micro runs making the series extremely rare. Shades of Dauray's Pop In Pop / Pierric's The Boss Music and William Stanray's Les Sparkles in places with groovy Mod jazz, 'discotheque' style funk / jerk with beats and bossa played with a catchy psychedelic sound. A real period piece... great horn section, fuzz distortions, funky fender basslines, hammond and flute. The Lp also appears on page 143 of the Johnny Trunk book - The Music Library (Graphic Art And Sound). Very rare Library!!! Bonjour JC PIERRIC .
Vous citiez "la joie de chaque musicien dans cet album".
Il
est clair qu' en écoutant Lida et le jeu du question/réponse entre la
guitare et les accords posés au piano (un morceau bien trop court pour
moi) on sent cette joie. Les musiciens se régalent! La basse avale les
notes à une vitesse vertigineuse dans Blue Diamond (la section
rythmique me fait penser a du Corduroy parfois). Le groove de Mikola
appelle quelques pas de dance et Oval is so easy, easy, easy (as can
be). Le theme qui défile dans Prefix laisse place à de bonnes impros
pour la guitare et le piano (ça donne envie. let' s go je prend la
gratte...). Nikita, languide, peut etre, mais le morceau atteint sa
cible. Quand à Talvi II et Polienka, ils sont dignent de figurer dans
les compiles "the sound gallery"! Le boogie du 33, Friday Green et les
moulins du charley sur Pachenka me font tourner la tete. Les themes,
faciles à retenir et à siffler, tel Zembelli sont une invitation au
Voyage. Peut etre meme avec Irina; une bonne conclusion d un vaste
panel de couleurs musicales teinté de gaieté. On ne s ennuie pas une
seconde! RUN! RUN! RUN! Merci une fois de plus

Que dire
de plus que Manu? Je suis tout à fait d'accord avec lui, le peps vous
saute au visage dès les premières notes de l'album. Il est vrai que ce
deuxième opus dépasse de loin le premier, qui offre des morceaux de
qualité inégale et moins aboutis. Parfois, je m'y suis ennuyé... Mais
dès le premier morceau du vol.2, on est bien boosté! Lida semble avoir
été créé à l'époque pour voir se trémousser une Brigitte Bardot
narquoise poursuivie des avances d'une guitare wouaf-wouaf pleine de
chien et d'un piano un peu "wet". Blue Diamond a effectivement une
superbe partie de basse, dans une atmosphère de bar enfumé au cigare, à
Harlem. Mikola semble être la suite de la pousuite entre Bardot et les
instruments en rut, aidés cette fois-ci d'une batterie nerveuse... Oval
a une mélodie simple, mais qqch cloche dans l'intro (la batterie arrive
trop tôt p-ê). Mais rdv sur une autre planète dès le morceau suivant,
Préfix, où l'on a à nouveau la basse d'enfer. Nikita est une petite
friandise pop, un modèle du genre. Bienvenue au Bal aux Lampions dans
Talvi II (servez-vous, le buffet est encore plein de cochonailles),
Dudule et son orchestre vont vous interpréter le début de "Memphis
Tennessee"... Retour à Harlem avec Polienka, deux flics enquêtent.
Discussion entre orgue et guitare qui finissent pas tomber d'accord à
l'unisson. Dans Pachenka, la guitare wah-wah et le piano ont enfin
conclu avec BB, alors on "jam" comme d'autres fumeraient une cigarette.
La suite d'accords de l'intro de Sophia est audacieuse : si bémol maj
suivi de mi majeur, c'est inhabituel! Une Pelotte en trois temps pour
suivre, dans une atmosphère feutrée. Zembelli, très flower-power...
Surprenant Voyage qui nous emmène loin, à se demander durant une minute
si on est toujours dans le même album. Irina, soeur sans doute encore
vierge de Lida, boucle la boucle avec le premier morceau de l'album.
Cet
album est en effet un arc-en-ciel à 16 couleurs que ne laisse pas
ilaginer l'austère voire jésuitique pochette! Si d'un morceau à l'autre
on change de climat, le tout m'apparaît très cohérent. Merci JC!

Every
now and than I dig up an album that I don't know but somehow I feel
it's going to be great. Something I've never seen or heard of before. A
discovery. A chest thumping moment of glory in a poor digger's life.
Well, this is such a record.
Never heard of Ella, never heard of ABA. Do I really need another hammond LP?
Back
of the record lists tracks with titles like Organ Speed Nice and
Stainless Steel. Oh, and what's that ? All tracks credited to J.C.
Pierric ?? Ah - to relive that moment - it's like a digger's satori. I
knew !
Pierric often teamed up with ex-musical director of L'Olympia, Daniel Janin. They both were on the Les Tréteaux label - churning out tracks of silly grooves (and some deep mean and nasty ones, too) on a seemingly infinite number of comps which were memorably shitty if not for the two instrumental cuts provided by the duo... Also on Les Tréteaux is a classic Euro groove 4 tracker called Eddy Driver à l'Orgue Hammond - which is generally considered to be Janin's doing. So this Pierric was no light-weight and I gladly split with my 1 Euro to take this home.
Well, the album certainly delivered. What I got for my money (ha!) is a set of tracks that cover some ground. The Eddy Driver sound is not far off (actually, I think Pierric's role on that LP has been underestimated by most) and on another track he manages to sound like a leisurely Brian Dee on Amphonic...
It's finds like this that keeps me motivated !
